Two day Training on Organic Farming

IMPHAL, Apr 20: A two-day training programme on organic farming of turmeric was inaugurated today at Tiger Camp in Imphal East organised by KVK Andro under the sponsorship of Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Agri- culture, Government of India.

As a resource persons of the training programme, Dr Th Ribindro, Plant Protection Subject Matter Specialist of KVK Andro and Th Ramananda, Project Assistant of Biotechnology have spoke on the use of artificial fertilisers for larger production. Around 30 progressive farmers of Tiger Camp and its surrounding areas have participated in the training programme.

Agriculture Training at Moreh

IMPHAL, Mar 31: A training programme on Agriculture and Allied Activities for farmers was held at H Wanomjang village, Moreh yesterday under the aegis of Directorate of Extension Education, CAU, Imphal.

Apart from imparting training to farmers, Giriraja variety of poultry chicks were also distributed to 60 farmers of the area, according to Prof Dr M Premjit, Director of Extension Education, CAU, Imphal. Speaking at the occasion, Dr M Premjit said that integrated farming system could facilitate economic upliftment of the hill area.

Programme Assistant of KVK, Dr Th Sushilkumar deliberated on scientific farming of Giriraja chicks while Programme Coordinator of KVK Andro, Dr T Medhabati stressed on the need to set up farmers’ club and Self Help Group in the area.
